
Misty Hughes
UAHT Dean of Institutional Effectiveness
Misty Hughes currently serves as the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, marking her 16th year at the institution. In 2009, Misty began her career at UAHT as a Power Plant Technology Advisor and Scholarship Manager. She has had the privilege of serving in various roles, including Director of Testing, Texarkana Student Services Specialist, and Director of Advising. In all her roles at UAHT, Misty has consistently demonstrated an unwavering dedication to enhancing the lives of students in the southwest Arkansas area. She is passionate about education and plays a vital role in the college's success. Misty was recently selected as the 2025 University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana Outstanding Alumna. She earned her Associate of Arts degree from UAHT in 2002, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and a Master of Education (Student Affairs) from Southern Arkansas University.
Outside of UAHT, Misty is married to Matt Hughes and has one daughter, Brooklyn Hughes, and serves on the United Way of Greater Texarkana Board.
