For more than 55 years, the University of Arkansas at Hope-Texarkana has been committed to providing students with a world-class education at an affordable cost. The college is committed to connecting students and community partners to high-quality education and dedicated to supporting a culture of academic, occupational, personal growth and enrichment programs throughout the region.

In 1996, U of A Hope-Texarkana became a proud member of the University of Arkansas System. The college works closely with the University of Arkansas family to maximize opportunities for students and communities. In addition, U of A Hope-Texarkana partners with other institutions to offer select bachelors and master’s degrees through distance learning, as well as partnering with area high schools to provide concurrent credit, early college high school, and secondary career center opportunities for high school students.

The U of A Hope campus is located on Arkansas Highway 29, at the southern city limits of Hope, Arkansas. The College is located on a 72-acre site originally obtained by the citizens of the area for Red River Vocational-Technical School, which was established in 1965.

In 2012, the college opened the U of A Texarkana campus. The 22-acre campus consists of the Texarkana Campus Center Building and the new 19,000 square feet Professions Building. The Texarkana campus is located along I-30 at 3501 U of A Way in Texarkana, Arkansas.

UAHT expanded in 2019 to offer a program unique to the University of Arkansas System by opening a bladesmithing school in Historic Washington, Arkansas. The James Black School of Bladesmithing and Historic Trades celebrates, preserves, and promotes the art of bladesmithing and historic trades, and the birth of the iconic Bowie Knife in Historic Washington. Students at the school study the art and science of Bladesmithing, Forging, Handles and Guards, Damascus Steel, and more.
