Freddie Smith

UAHT Board of Visitors Chair

Freddie Smith is a dedicated public servant and faith leader with a lifelong commitment to community, education, and rehabilitation services. A retiree of Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, Freddie brought decades of leadership and compassion to his role, advocating for individuals with disabilities and supporting workforce development across the state.

 

In addition to his public service career, Freddie has served as a pastor for over 50 years, offering spiritual guidance and support to generations of Arkansans. His service and leadership have earned him national recognition, including being named one of the Outstanding Young Men of America in 1977 and listed in Who’s Who Honored Professionals from 2001 to 2006.

 

Freddie holds degrees from Ouachita Baptist University and Unity Theological Seminary. He has also contributed his time and expertise to numerous boards and organizations, including the National Rehabilitation Association, the Southwest Arkansas Workforce Development Board, the United Way of Hope, and the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT) Foundation Board. He currently serves as Chair of the UAHT Board of Visitors.
