Anna Lee Powell is an inspiring and energetic leader with over a decade of experience in community development and non-profit leadership. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Central Arkansas, Anna and her husband, Colby Powell, chose to embrace rural life, settling in Hope, Arkansas as local business owners. Her career trajectory reflects a commitment to the economic, educational and social development of her community.

Currently serving as the President of the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation, Anna has played a pivotal role in driving strategic community growth in Hope and Southwest Arkansas. Anna served in various roles over seven years at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana, most recently as Executive Director of Institutional Advancement. Her active involvement in various boards and committees highlights her leadership and vision for sustainable Southwest Arkansas development. Most recently, Anna has had the honor to serve on Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center Board, Southwest Arkansas Planning and Development Board, Arkansas Economic Developers and Chamber Executives Board as well as the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute Advisory Board.

In her personal life, Anna treasures spending quality time with her husband, Colby Powell, and their five-year-old son, whether it is work or play, they make everyday an adventure together. Anna is a member of Unity Baptist Church of Hope, where she finds joy in working with toddlers in the Children's Chapel. Passionate about food and fashion, a bargain and lifelong learning, Anna continues to enrich her life and community with new experiences and insights every day.
